I started asking around my varying social groups if anyone had a primary care doctor they really loved.
I was super dissatisfied with my doctor’s response. I needed a second opinion and I wanted to get one fast.
Every single day felt like torture. Trudging through each day; sleepwalking through my life, only to have nighttime finally come and for sleep to elude me time and time again; night after night. It really felt like a living hell.
I wanted answers and I needed help. Like now. Like, yesterday.
A friend told me about her doctor who she loved and had been going to practically her whole life.
I was sold. I made an appointment.
Long story short, we basically did the exact same doctor-patient dance, we just did it to a slightly different tune.
I could tell he genuinely wanted me to feel like I had been heard. He had very good “bed-side manner” and I did walk away from his office feeling as though he had at least heard me out, allowing me to present all the information without having a predetermined bias he was already leaning towards.
He ran a thyroid blood test for me too. It too was “normal.”
This is a good place for me to stop and take a moment to explain how a thyroid bloodtest can be “normal” and something is still wrong with your thyroid.
